On God's Essence & Energies - Divine Simplicity?
The Nathan Jacobs Podcast | with Guest Dr. David Bradshaw
Greetings subscribers! As mentioned in my previous post, I’m presently bogged down with the upcoming Amazon Studios show, House of David, which is in the thick of production. (I’m a writer and Co-Executive Producer on the show.)
As also mentioned, however, I have finally — after much prodding — launched my own podcast. The inaugural episode dropped last week. New episodes are scheduled for every Thursday, and because today is Thursday, I have a fresh set of links to my latest episode.
Today’s podcast is my interview with David Bradshaw on the essence-energies distinction, something my readers will not doubt be familiar with, and David and I even follow the waves of the discussion into the waters of divine simplicity. Be sure to check it out wherever you listen to podcasts, and remember to like and subscribe.
To all my subscribers, thank you for subscribing. To my paid subscribers, thank you for your support. And to any visitors, please consider subscribing and supporting my work. Enjoy!
Hey Chris! Thanks for the comment. I was just speaking with my producer today, and we decided that I should do a Q&A episode every fifth podcast. That'll give me an opportunity respond to questions like yours -- and others on YouTube or wherever -- in a more thorough way and give the broader listenership the benefit of hearing your question and my reply. So, if you don't mind, I'd like to hold my answer and use it in my first Q&A podcast!
On a related topic, a number of Orthodox I know (I'm a catechumen) seem to think Jay Dyer's transcendental argument is the best line of representation of orthodox understanding of natural theology. Wondering if you'd comment on that. I know you have those articles on the metaphysical commitments of the early fathers on here. Thanks.
