The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly of Storytelling | The Taxidermy of Hollywood
The Nathan Jacobs Podcast
Greetings subscribers! Before talking about today’s episode, I have an announcement.
Those of you know my story know that, though I continue to publish in academia and hold a title with Vanderbilt, I rarely teach anymore. HOWEVER, I will be teaching a class in the not-so-distant future.
The class will be 3 credit hours, undergraduate level, and open to all. I will be teaching over Zoom, so you can take it anywhere in the world. If you want college credit, you can get an accredited transcript of the course and transfer it to your school of choice. If you just want to sit in on the lectures, you can audit the class. Details to come!
BUT first, I’m opening it up to my readers and listeners to weigh in on what they would like me to teach. So, toward that end, I am linking to a survey (below), where you can tell me which topics are of greatest interest to you, and I will take the results into account when determining what I will be teaching. So, PLEASE, if you are interested in taking a class from me, please click that link and let me know!

Now, back to the show. I want to point you to my latest episode of The Nathan Jacobs Podcast, released last Thursday. (Sorry for the delay.)
Today, we venture into Hollywood. In this first of two parts, I will use the new Netflix movie about the Virgin Mary to explore the many pitfalls that Hollywood falls into when trying to create a film about matters of faith. I’ll also offer some of my own prescriptions on how to fix these problems.
Be watching on Sunday for the next installment of my Leibniz book this Sunday. You can read the latest installment here.
